Business jet veers off the runway at Dubai airport
Civil aviation officials in the UAE are investigating an accident in which a business jet veered off the runway at Dubai International Airport late on Monday evening, Khaleej Times has learnt. The Challenger 850 jet suffered minor damage and possibly caused damage to the runway lights, but all the crew aboard were unharmed, the operator of the aircraft confirmed on Tuesday.

Dubai airport passengers up 5.8 pct, unrest slows traffic
Passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport rose by 5.8 percent year-on-year in March, Dubai Airports said on Monday, but traffic on Middle Eastern and African routes dropped due to regional unrest. In March, 4.2 million passengers passed through the world’s fourth busiest airport for international passenger traffic, Dubai Airports said in a statement.

Emirates launches Airbus A380 to Shanghai
Shanghai, the most populous city in China, is set to join Emirates’ expanding list of Airbus A380 destinations, when the superjumbo begins its non-stop service from Dubai on April 27. Shanghai will be Emirates’ third destination in Greater China to welcome the Airbus A380, following the launch of the aircraft to Beijing on August 1, 2010 and Hong Kong on October 1, 2010.
