Dubai Airport Freezone recorded a significant contribution of Dhs52bn to the total volume of Dubai trade in 2010. This represents 5.8% of the total volume, according to study released by the Dubai Airport Freezone.
Dubai’s economy remains strong: Al Ghurair
Business registration in Dubai has increased since the beginning of the year, although it is unclear if the recent uncertainities in the Middle East have anything to do with it. There are, however, talks of capital inflow from toubled Arab economies such as Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria and Yemen that could boost the UAE economy, especially Dubai due to its competitive advantage.
Etihad to recruit 200 Emiratis in 2011
Etihad Airways is looking to recruit at least 200 Emirati graduates and school leavers this year, as part of its Emiratisation program. The carrier was among more than 30 businesses actively recruiting the brightest young local talent at the Al Ain Education and Career Fair which concluded recently.
